JOB SUMMARY

The Trust Press is seeking part-time mailroom staff and a press helper for a variety of functions, including operating an inserting machine and working with the press crew to set-up the bundle stacker and place bundles on carts or pallets. Secondary training will teach how to fill inks on press and to install paper rolls into the press, as well mounting printing plates on press. These positions do not require past experience, but it is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

Work Location: In person

Schedule: Varies, but weekday hours

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate equipment for inserting and labeling newspapers
  • Efficiently manage duties within the mailroom department, coordinating with other departments
  • Prepare the press bundle stacker, involving presets that specific jobs require
  • Load paper and mount plates, in accordance with ink settings or paper width
  • Prepare stacker in a timely and accurate manner
  • Keep the printing press supplied with materials such as ink or fountain solution
  • During planned or unplanned downtime, keep machines in good working order through preventative maintenance
  • Follow standard processes and procedures

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to speak and write clearly and accurately
  • Willingness to cooperate with others and work to the greater good
  • Multi-tasking capabilities
  • Awareness that safety for yourself, your co-workers and equipment is of utmost importance

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to reach, sit, use fingers, grasp, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • EQUIPMENT USED: Various hand tools
  • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Factory working conditions
